Brief History

From a small institution with a handful of programs to a multi-campus university serving over 15,000 students, Goldenstate College's story is one of resilience, expansion, and unwavering commitment to educational excellence in South Cotabato.

1992

Founding of Goldenstate Institute

Goldenstate Institute was established in General Santos City by seven visionary school officials. With 29 teachers and 160 students, the institute began with seven vocational courses and five non-formal courses.

1997

Administrative & Faculty Growth

Five years after opening, administrative staff and instructors grew to forty-eight. The institute expanded its course offerings to meet the needs of the growing student population.

2002

Elevation to College Status

Goldenstate Institute was elevated to Goldenstate College, receiving CHED recognition for collegiate programs. New courses in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, and Teacher Education were launched.

2008

Branch Campuses in Sarangani Province

Goldenstate College of Kiamba, Maasim, and Malungon campuses were established in Sarangani Province to extend quality education to surrounding communities.

2012

Koronadal City Campus Opens

The Koronadal City campus extended GSC's reach to the provincial capital of South Cotabato, serving more students across the Marbel area.

2016

ISO Certification & Accreditations

Goldenstate College received ISO certification, affirming its commitment to quality management in education. CHED accreditations for multiple programs were secured.

2020

Digital Transformation Initiative

GSC rapidly adopted blended and online learning platforms to ensure educational continuity for all students during the global pandemic.

2024

International Partnerships Signed

GSC co-hosted the COHREP International Convention in South Korea and signed MOAs with Sejong University and MES Kalladi College (India), marking a new era of global engagement.

Today

Five Campuses, Eight Colleges

Goldenstate College operates across General Santos City, Koronadal City, Kiamba, Maasim, and Malungon — with thousands of graduates contributing to communities nationwide.
